Choosing B Curve vs C Curve

Curve Trip Threshold Best For
B Curve 3–5× rated current Resistive/low-inrush loads — lighting circuits, general sockets, standard domestic circuits
C Curve 5–10× rated current Higher-inrush loads — motors, transformers, and EV chargers, where a B curve device may nuisance-trip on startup
