CUT, STRIP AND ULTRASONIC WELDING

Our Cable Preparation Service for manufacturers and installers is designed to speed up production with stock already prepared to your specifications and ready for assembly.

We supply a range of ITT Cannon EVSE connectors, which can be prepared to your particular specifications and wiring diagram via our semi-automated Cut, Strip and Ultrasonic Welding process. 

The service reduces logistics and admin as well as tool fatigue and RSI risk. We also take care of the recycling of all raw materials, cut-offs and packaging.

Ultrasonic welding is superior to traditional crimping, providing connections that manufacturers and installers can rely on.

Clamping and forming during the welding process reflects the internal ridges and shape of the cages and screw terminals of the relays, contactors and electrical protection commonly used in the EV industry.

Crimping

For requirements where welding is not suitable, we can still process wire with a machine that strips and crimps – eliminating the need for manual operations which can introduce quality issues and add to costs.  We provide a competitive service, even for jobs with wires that require ferrules.

EVSE Connectors

Type 2 Socket Outlet

If you are using Type 2 sockets and tethered cables, we have a range of standard stocked items in our warehouse to provide flexibility in call-off schedules and decrease lead and delivery times to your assembly facilities.

We supply EVSE Connectors from ITT Canon fully conformant to IEC 62196 / J1772 for use with electric vehicles, charge points and service equipment and infrastructure described by IEC 61851.

Socket outlets

  • Type 2 (IEC 62196) connector
  • Rated up to 32A, Single phase or 3 phase
  • Up to 2m cable tail length
  • Solenoid or motor plug locking mechanism
  • IP54 rated with supplied lid fitted

Tethered cable outlets

  • Common lengths available: 3m, 5m, 8m, 10m
  • Type 1 (J1772) or Type 2 (IEC 62196) connectors
  • Rated up to 32A, single phase or 3 phase (Type 2 only)
  • CE compliant and UL certified

Accessories

We also supply a range of locking accessories for sockets, including:

  • 12v Actuator Switch / Motor locking kits – for use with sockets in applications that require an actuator. Supplied with lock and connector
  • Solenoid locking mechanism - 6VDC, 12VDC and 24VDC for use socket outlets and supplied with up to 300mm cable.
