Plug in and go — a 7kW tethered charger with a 6.8 or 9.6-metre Type 2 cable permanently attached, so you never need to search for it.
The Simpson & Partners Home Series 7kW Basic Tethered has a 6.8 or 9.6-metre Type 2 cable permanently attached, so charging your car is as simple as lifting the cable off the hook and plugging in. There's no separate cable to store or lose, and no fumbling around in the rain — just a clean, consistent experience every time.
It has the same premium build quality, app-enabled scheduling, and Octopus Intelligent compatibility as the socket version, making it well-suited for households with a single EV and a straightforward charging routine. Custom colour finishes are available to match your home's exterior, and a colour-matched cable hook is available separately to keep things tidy between charges.
Manufactured in the UK and backed by a 5-year hardware warranty and a 10-year enclosure warranty. The modular design means components can be repaired or upgraded without replacing the whole unit.

Frequently Asked Questions
What length is the tethered cable?
The cable is 6.8 or 9.6 metres long, which is sufficient to reach both front and rear charging ports for most vehicles when the charger is installed at a standard height on the wall nearest your parking space.
Can I use a tethered charger with any electric car?
Yes, as long as your EV has a Type 2 charging port — which covers all modern EVs sold in the UK. CCS and CHAdeMO are DC fast-charging standards; your car will always have a separate Type 2 AC port for home charging.
Should I choose socket or tethered?
Tethered is the most convenient option if you have one car and always charge at home. A socket is better if you have multiple EVs, want to share with visitors, or prefer to use the cable that came with your vehicle.
Is a cable hook available?
Yes. A colour-matched cable hook is available separately from Eco Harmony and mounts directly to the charger or adjacent wall to keep the cable tidy between charges.
Had this in a few weeks now and no complaints at all. Just works every time I plug in. Looks decent on the wall as well which was a bonus to be fair.
