FastAmps Alpha7 Gen4 EV Charger | 7.4kW British-Made Home Charging | EcoHarmony
FastAmps Alpha7
EV Charger.
Simply Reliable.
7.4kW home EV charging. Designed, manufactured and supported in Great Britain. Dynamic Solar Charging. PEN Fault Protection. WiFi, Bluetooth & Ethernet.
Engineering Excellence — Simply Done.
The FastAmps Alpha7 has been designed from the ground up for both customers and installers. No unnecessary components. Compact case. Clear, straightforward setup.
Delivers up to 7.3kW at 32A — enough to add around 30 miles of range per hour. Adjustable from 6A to 32A via the app to suit any electrical installation.
Responds directly to your solar inverter output, automatically adjusting the charge rate to match surplus generation. Significantly reduces charging costs for solar households.
Integrated 20mA AC and 6mA DC earth fault protection with broken PEN connection detection. Built-in as standard — no external PME device or earth rod required on standard UK supplies.
Monitors your home's total electrical demand via CT clamp and automatically reduces EV charging current when other high loads are active — enabling installation on constrained supplies.
Triple-mode connectivity switchable via internal DIP switch. Bluetooth BLE for local app control, WiFi for home network, Ethernet for wired connection, and OCPP for commercial platforms.
Available in both tethered (fixed 5m cable) and untethered (Type 2 socketed) configurations. Compatible with every EV sold in the UK and Europe.
UV stabilised, fire-retardant, impact and corrosion-resistant. Operates from -30°C to +50°C with IK08 impact rating. Fit and forget — fully weatherproof for British conditions.
Two Alpha7 chargers can be paired to share up to 32A between them — no ACCT required. Uses a single standard supply cable, making dual-car household installations simple and cost-effective.
Full control via the free FastAmps app (iOS & Android). Set charge times, view real-time status, monitor solar tracking, export charge history data, and lock the charger remotely.

Simple to Install. Quick to Commission.
The Alpha7 is designed with installers in mind — no unnecessary components, a clear terminal layout, and straightforward commissioning via the app. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Qualified Installer Required: A qualified and experienced installer must carry out this work, observing all local and national wiring regulations relating to EVs. Incorrect installation will invalidate the warranty.
Open the Alpha7 carton and check for transit damage. Verify all items: charger, mounting template, T20 torx bit, 4× stainless screws, 4× DeWalt wall plugs.
Select a flat brick, concrete or masonry wall, ideally out of direct sunlight. Fix height: 0.9m to 1.5m from the ground. Allow cable access.
Use the mounting template to mark holes. Drill 8mm holes at least 40mm deep. Hole centres: 95mm (W) × 215mm (H).
Remove the 4 front cover screws with the T20 torx. Drill gland holes and fit glands for cable entry direction. Entry from bottom, LHS or RHS.
Fix the Alpha7 to the wall using the 4× stainless-steel screws supplied into the pre-drilled DeWalt wall plugs.
Isolate the supply cable. Wire Live (Brown), Neutral (Blue), Earth (Green/Yellow) to MAINS IN (J1). Torque to 1.3Nm. 10mm strip length.
For Dynamic Load Management, fit CT clamp to main incomer and wire to J4 'DYN LOAD'. For Solar, wire Solar Integration cable to J4 'SOLAR'.
Set S4 to preferred mode: BLE default (S1↓ S2↓), WiFi/Ethernet (S1↑ S2↓), BLE alt (S1↓ S2↑), WiFi+OCPP (S1↑ S2↑).
Replace cover and torque screws to 2Nm. Power on. Blue LED = ready. Any other colour = fault (see troubleshooting).
Download the FastAmps app, pair via Bluetooth using the 6-digit password on the mounting template. Configure charging current, times, and optional features.
Electrical Requirements
Cable sizing depends on charging current, cable run distance, installation method and local code. Typical installations use 4mm² to 6mm² cable.
32A Installation (7.4kW)
• 40A Type C MCB or RCBO
• 30mA Type A RCD breaker
• Typically 6mm² cable
16A Installation (3.7kW)
• 20A Type C MCB or RCBO
• 30mA Type A RCD breaker
• Typically 4mm² cable
LED Status Indicators
