When wall mounting isn't possible — listed buildings, rendered façades, or driveways away from the house — the Freestanding gives you the same premium Plus charger on a purpose-built standalone pedestal.
The Freestanding Home Series 7kW Plus is the same charger as the wall-mounted Plus model, mounted onto a clean purpose-built pedestal (EV block mini, included) rather than fixed to a wall. It is the right solution for properties where drilling into external walls isn't possible or desirable — including listed or heritage buildings where planning restrictions apply, homes with rendered or insulated external walls, and driveways positioned away from the building.
The pedestal brings cable entry from below for a tidy, professional finish with no visible conduit or surface wiring. All Plus features are included: solar charging, dynamic load management via Wired Energy Manager (included) or the Wireless Energy Manager (sold separately), built-in energy monitoring, app control, and Octopus Intelligent compatibility.
Both the charger and pedestal are designed and manufactured in the UK. The hardware carries a 5-year warranty and the enclosure a 10-year warranty. Custom colour finishes are available.

A freestanding charger is often the preferred option for listed buildings as it avoids drilling into the protected structure. Always check with your local planning authority and Historic England or Cadw as appropriate. Your installer can advise on the correct approach for your property.
Is the pedestal included?
Yes. The freestanding version includes the EV block mini pedestal. Your installer will run the supply cable through the base from underground or a surface conduit.
Does it need to be anchored?
Yes. The pedestal is bolted to a concrete base or suitable hard standing by your installer as part of the installation.
Is it the same charger as the wall-mounted version?
Yes — the charger unit is identical to the wall-mounted 7kW Plus. All Plus features including solar charging, energy monitoring, and dynamic load management are included.
