Two charging points, one unit, one supply cable — the Business Pro Dual halves your infrastructure cost per charging point while giving you full commercial control over users, billing, and reporting.
The Simpson & Partners Business Pro Dual 7kW is a commercial-grade, freestanding EV charger with two Type 2 sockets, allowing two vehicles to charge simultaneously from a single unit. It is designed for workplaces, apartment car parks, hotels, and any multi-user environment where the cost and complexity of two separate units would otherwise apply.
The unit includes a built-in MID-certified energy meter for legally compliant per-kWh billing, RFID access control for user management, and full OCPP 1.6J compatibility — meaning it works with any back-office software platform. You are not tied to a proprietary system. Dynamic and static load management, Ethernet daisy-chaining, and power daisy-chaining up to 100A make it straightforward to scale from a two-space installation to a larger one over time.
Built-in RCBO and PEN fault protection removes the need for an earth rod in many installations, simplifying the work for your electrician. UK-manufactured with a 5-year hardware warranty and 10-year enclosure warranty. Mounted on the EV block 600 pedestal, sold separately.

Is this the right charger for your project?
| Choose this if | You need to charge multiple users or vehicles from one unit; you need legally compliant billing; you want open-protocol flexibility with no vendor lock-in; you need to scale the installation later. |
| Choose 22kW instead if | Your site has three-phase power and vehicles dwell for shorter periods — 22kW delivers faster throughput per session. |
| For single-user home installs | See the Home Series. |
Frequently Asked Questions
What does OCPP 1.6J mean in practice?
OCPP is the open standard for EV charger-to-software communication. OCPP 1.6J compliance means this charger works with any compatible back-office platform — you can switch providers, integrate payment systems, or join a CPO network without changing hardware.
Can I charge users for electricity?
Yes. The MID-certified meter enables legally compliant per-kWh billing. Connect to any OCPP-compatible back-office for invoicing, user management, and reporting. Optional contactless payment terminals can be fitted at the unit.
What is PEN fault protection and why does it matter?
PEN fault protection is a UK regulatory requirement for externally installed EV chargers where earthing may be unreliable. Having it built in means your electrician typically doesn't need to install a separate earth rod — reducing installation complexity and cost.
Can I daisy-chain multiple units?
Yes — Ethernet daisy-chain for network connectivity and power daisy-chain up to 100A. This lets you wire and manage multiple chargers from a single supply circuit efficiently as the installation grows.
Is the EV block 600 pedestal included?
The EV block 600 is sold separately and must be ordered alongside the charger. It provides concealed bottom cable entry for a clean finish in car park environments.
