The EPC 2.0 Plus builds on the success of the 1st generation of EVSE controller (EPC). It is the same size DIN rail mounted module designed for IEC 61851 compliant EV charge points, but with more features and configurable options.
The 35mm wide module can support 1 charging outlet, either a socket outlet or a tethered cable, as well as added electrical safety features that help charge point manufacturers and installers meet regulations in a cost-effective way. Like before, It has an internal status indicator LED and support for an external LED.
It's the most advanced version of the EPC 2.0 family and has built in supply optimisation and RS485 support. 

Additional Safety Features

DC Sensor / RCM Support (Western Automation RCM14-01 supplied as optional extra) - The EPC 2.0 Plus has support for DC leakage protection and will detect DC currents of 6mA or greater, disabling the charging session and making the equipment safe.

PEN Loss Detection system negates the need for earth rod - The  EPC 2.0 Plus has the ability to protect the user in the event of a failure/loss of the PEN conductor in the distribution network The EPC 2.0 Plus will disconnect all live conductors and the protective earth conductor, making the equipment safe until the fault is fixed.

Supply Optimisation which downrates the current taken by the vehicle to the measured remaining capacity of the property, so as not to overload the property capacity. Additional split core CT required.

Configurable options

The EPC 2.0 Plus comes as a single stock option, with some of the configurable features listed below selected on a 10 way DIP switch accessed under the lid/front face of the device. Other features are configurable via Modbus 
  • Configurable for Tethered or Socket outlets
  • Configurable for solenoid or motor locking systems
  • Configurable with PEN Loss detection enabled or disabled
  • Setting of the house limit for supply optimisation (additional Split Core CT Required)

RCM enabled by default. If not using the RCM this will need to be turned off using the Modbus registry
